The band was created years ago in a pub in our hometown of Vannes. The pub was called John R. O'Flaherty, and we met there and started to play together there, hence our name. In 2017, Patricia, the landlady, sadly passed away. This song is in her memory. We love you Patou.
lyrics
There's a fire burning in the wood stove
A concertina tune in the air
There is music and laughter and joy
Around me everywhere
There's a pot roast cooking in the oven
I can smell it coming down the stairs
And behind every smile the same thought
That you used to be there
Christmas without you just isn't the same
There is a bitter taste in my beer
The carols they whisper your name
As far as anyone can hear
There's Johnny he's playing his old 6 string
And there's Ray, he is singing along
With such warmth and kindness he makes
you feel like you belong
There's a trooper behind that old counter
He got quite the sadness in his eyes
Every night I can tell he is waiting
For the sun to rise
And your laughter so infectious is like a ghost
It reminds us that you are still here
In our hearts, in our songs, sitting with us almost
In that trooper that holds you so dear
Christmas without you'll never be the same
This bitter taste in my beer won't go
Though the carols still whisper your name
You're with us in more ways that we know
There's a fire burning in the wood stove
A concertina tune in the air
There is music and laughter and you're
Around us everywhere
